THE WOW
FACTOR!
The point of difference (or that WOW Factor) that MCEI demonstrates
through its Connect Events, is that it invites celebrities as
speakers and provides attendees with a huge dose of fun and
fellowship. Gold Members are well looked after by being able to go
in a draw for a fantastic door prize at each event e.g. TV, digital
camera etc. The October Connect Event continued in the tradition of
which members and visitors alike have come to
accept.
Entertainment
Elvis graced our gathering
with witty chat and treated us all to a foot tapping rendition of
‘Jailhouse Rock’ to get us in the mood for a swinging night of
motivation.
Speakers
Each of the panel members
were celebrities in the field of business
achievements.
1.
Sharon Pearson, CEO and Head Trainer at
‘The Coaching Institute’ and winner of the 2006 Telstra Micro
Business Award and the Port Phillip Innovative Business Award,
shared her ‘Three Keys to Your Business’.
2. Kevin
Cahalane is the Director of
‘Sales & Service Momentum’ spoke about the importance of
‘Persistence’ when running your own business.
3.
Murray Collier, the Founder and Director
of ‘Performance Works’ coached the Australian Business Woman of the
Year, and discussed the importance of ‘Business Relationships
and Networking’.
4. Shane
Hills of the ‘Koko
Black’ chocolate house in the Royal Arcade made us aware of just
how important ‘Passion’ is in making your business
successful.
5.
Margot & Alan Spalding developed the first of
the ‘Jimmy Possum Furniture’ stores and pointed out how important
‘Differentiation’ is when moving your
business forward.
6. Paul
McCarthy of ‘Business Support
Network’, Winner of the National Speakers Association of Australia
- 2005 Speaker of the Year, described how important it is to have
‘Focus’ in your business.
Each of the Panel was delighted to be given a sample bag of
absolutely delicious chocolates (to die for) made available by
Shane and Koko Black.
Networking
Networking was again
splendid, as attendees made contact with each other and the Panel,
midst a sea of green and purple balloons. Gold member Jillian
Ferguson won the digital camera door prize and dozens of other
attendees shared in the many other door prizes on
offer.
