Q. Tell us something about you – your philosophy, your
lifestyle, your ethics, your hobbies etc.
A. I am a mother of two under 4, and have worked for myself
since completing year 12. I was 19 when I started my grooming
salon, 15 years later I am amazed at where it has taken me;
association director, speaker, teacher, award winner and successful
mum. I have a passion for helping other achieve their goals. I did
Ballroom dancing for most of my life – dancer, teacher &
adjudicator but now compete in night tennis where I met my husband
who was my coach.

Q. What is it that your business does?
A. Pet Grooming; washing, drying, hair clipping, styling of
pet dogs. Small retail service to clients

A. 2 employees plus my mum helps a lot

What makes your business unique?
A. We were the first Aust. Groomers to do mudpacks for dogs,
but mainly I would hope its our ongoing customer service and
invaluable advice and support to our clients
MARKETING
Q. What is the most important Marketing/Networking
tool/strategy your business has had success with?
A. Close associations with our local vets, we provide $5 off
gift vouchers for them to give to their clients (new grooming
clients only), we are now basically the closest
vets’ “groomer”, this is also beneficial when we need vet
advice or support.

in, or won any awards or other commendations?
A. The 2001 Pet Industry of Australia – Grooming Salon of
the Year and 2007 PIAA Grooming
Competitions – Open Terrier 1st and (Best in Show
runner-up) Novice Poodle 1st and Novice Terrier
2nd & 3rd

Q. What is the most helpful piece of advice you could
give to other businesses?
A. Back-up your database and all other business related work
on a daily or weekly basis
